Saturday dawned bright and early and as this was match day the girls awoke, refreshed, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed all ready for the challenge ahead. They sensibly ate a hearty breakfast and did their pre-match meditation before getting ready for the game ahead. Today's game was to be against St Mary's Old Boys Ladies Rugby Team who play in the South West Division 1 and who had kindly agreed to host us for a friendly match.
Okay let's get real, Saturday sounds like it was extremely painful for a number of the team who decided to inspect the Bristol plumbing in great detail with particularly close examination of the toilet bowl area.
After arriving at St Mary's Old Boys RFC, a number of ladies had a nap in the changing room whilst Lardina found a particularly comfy kit bag to snuggle down in.
This was then followed by a great game of rugby against SMOB ladies rugby team. Rule for the day was that both teams had to play their forwards in the backs and backs in the forwards. (Beccs ladies were also of course playing with their pants over their shorts in order to avoid fines!)
I haven't a clue what the score of the match was but I believe that many players from both teams are now thinking of changing their positions next season ha ha!
All in all it was an extremely friendly match with a load of great laughs and our thanks go to SMOB who were fantastic (friendly and mad) hosts and gave us a really good time.
