Beccs St. George's Bristol Tour - April 21st-24th 2006

Day Three and Four - Sunday and Monday..

Sunday was strangely another blur. Apparent highlights were sending several 'scouts' on a reconnaissance mission for cheap and likely bars. In true Starsky & Hutch style (without the dress up) they took to the task, leaping over bonnets and whizzing around corners - shooting from the hip. Beccs Captain took a drunken lunge along a random street and nearly took out a lamp post. It was apparently a close thing but luckily the lamp post was made of sterner stuff.

The Capt'n lived to tell the tale and was able to tell the girls of some delighful watering holes just waiting to be discovered. Walkabout pub in Bristol however was not very welcoming. What a huge cavern which not even the Beccemaniacs could manage to fill. The manager became slightly intimidated by the Beccs girls, for what reason who knows but its true to say that it wasn't his lucky night!

Foxy thought she had escaped to a nice quiet bar with a nice young bartender who kept her topped up with rum cocktails, courtesy of the DJ. However she must have been dismayed to see the snake-like line of Beccemaniacs along the street outside who invaded said nice bar to case some mayhem - again!

On Monday in extremely minging and smelly clothes (as per Tour rules, not a change in sight from Friday morning!), the Ladies made their way back to the station, boarded the train for London and in a slightly more subdued manner carried out Tour court. At the end it was commented by an unwitting audience that it was the 'most interesting train journey ever' - glad we made someones day. It's been heard that if ever Bristol Council hear of another ladies rugby tour to their lovely city then steps may be taken to have the gates barred and Clifton Suspension Bridge - suspended!

Some 'maniacs' finished off tour at the Hogs Head in Beckenham where they put away a little more alcohol to keep the blood levels honest.
