After a quick drink in the student union and some trouble getting Welsh taxi drivers to pick up 20 English women dressed in shower caps we went back into town for some well deserved food. It was a relief to sit down and we invaded Yard to watch the Italy vs Ireland match whilst plotting all the final fines ready for court on the train.
Time was soon marching on and it was time for a quick visit to Walkabout on the way to the station for a quick last musical instrument check, a quick line of shots and a horrible horrible bottle of reef which had to be drunk as quickly as possible. It was freezing!! And then onto the station.
Fingers came up with a great game in the station which involved the Forwards all legging it to the nearest pub with the mission of all having a drink, getting a souvenir and coming back in quick fast time. The Backs then had to do the same and see who won. Well those skinny fast girls might know a trick or two on the pitch but when it comes to bribing barmen the forwards know whats good for them!! Needless to say the Forwards won!
There was just time for a final tic-tac check before going to board the train and at this point Sniff came into her own with a UV light to check that everyone had the original packets of unopened tic-tacs. well who would have thought?! At this point Bugs became the only lady not to have the original packet - FINE!
Beccs ladies then nearly caused another incident by all getting in the lift to the platform. Now if a lift says it can carry 40 people you'd think you could get a ladies rugby team in there wouldn't you? Okay so we're not all slim and we did have bags but really?! A worrying few minutes passed in the lift when it jammed between floors and no one answered the bell. With just five minutes to catch the train things were looking bad. Actually it wasn't that worrying because after drinking all afternoon most of us were actually in hysterics! Time for some recorder duets eh Vonnie?!
