We decided to visit the same pub that we’d been in the night before and this evening it was even more packed full of rugby people. Much joviality followed with singing, dancing, talking and larking.
We had a wee run-in with a group on a Stag weekend but managed to tame the Stag by tattooing a rose on his forehead.
Numerous strange characters staggered through the evening, and one we can’t fail to mention is our ‘wee miniature’. Where he came from - God only knows and where he went to - God only knows, but we took some photos to remember him by.
The evening passed by in a flash with us dancing and singing to our old favourites such as Chesney Hawkes, ‘I am the one and only’ which is becoming a bit of a sad team theme tune (That’s hard to say, you try it). And other such classics such as ‘Build me up Buttercup’. Kelly’s Christmases all came at once when she managed to unearth some rather good looking Brummies from the back of the pub.
At some unearthly hour, the pub turned us out onto the streets (Three cheers for Scottish licensing laws and long drinking hours) where we discovered that Lara had gone missing! Luckily, a nice young man had taken care of her for us and both were soon retrieved from the dark depths of the ladies toilets.
Back at the hotel, the bar was still awake and a game of ‘I have never’ took off in full flight. Some went to bed, some stayed up, some chatted and played with the nice Brummy boys and some talked to old men, Jim Bowen and gynaecologists.
All in all, a very good night was had by everyone (and by all accounts some had an even nicer early morning but I don’t think we’d better go there apart from asking if anyone else can verify what they say about blokes from Sutton Caulfield?
A tour there next year perhaps girls?
