Beccs Edinburgh 'Spoons' Tour - Feb 20th-23rd 2004

Day Two..Saturday - the return

After a quick wash and brush-up at the hostel the girls headed back out for a night on the tiles. And ended up back up the millions of steps to the Royal Mile area up by the castle. Now please tell me why when there are so many steps to get up did someone yell something like "Last one to the top is a big Jessie.."? God was that tiring - aren't we supposed to be fit?

Funny thing about Six Nations weekend means the pubs are pretty well packed - which means you can't always get in the one you want. So we ended up splitting up with some going for food and some going to the Six Sisters pub that Chitty and Sniffer had sussed out the night before. It turned out to be a pretty good cool place, more like a club than a pub and so we all met up for a good old boogy to some often quite cheesy music but great to sing to stuff. Mounty used her skills to woo a nice French guy and then erm brought him through to us to get rid of! And who was the guy shouting "Mon-ty, Mont-ty" or "Fin-gers", "Fo-xy" etc. - nutter!

One moment of the night has to be all the Beccs girls in a tight circle doing "New York, New York" and the guys just circling around the outside absolutely dying to break through and get into the circle.

By chucking out time Fagin had managed a Moet jug which was put to extremely good use outside on the cobbles in an impromptu game of rugby. You should have seen the Beccs back line going across the street - absolutely wonderful quick safe hands and no dropped jug! There were a whole group of police officers at the end of the street just standing and watching. At the end of the road after we had re-grouped and had a a quick spoon check and wave it was even funnier to see the police turn away from us as if to leave well alone - I think they may have been scared ha ha.

All in all a really good night and a long cold walk to get home. Some stayed out later and Chitty did her normal disappearing act and went AWOL - for a night in a hotel? - what's wrong with bunk beds then eh? (Apart from the wobble!)

Where's Hamish?

After successfully
finding Duncan last
year it was only
right to have a
Tour mission to
find Hamish. I
believe one was
found in the bar
of a Weatherspoons
but did anyone
else find Hamish?

No matter where
we looked though
there was no sign
of the lovely Hamish
McDucky who we met
in Edinburgh two
years ago on our
first ever Tour..
