27th October 2007 - Beccs Ladies lose local Derby against Beckenham
As usual, the Beccehamian game against Beckenham was a hard-fought affair with both sides getting stuck in with some great play. Gutsy decision making from coach Mickey Kelly meant that there were several Beccs players playing out of position bringing a slightly different dynamic to the Beccs team.
Claire H was at inside centre with Lara at Number 8 which meant that Beccs managed to push up in defence, causing some problems for Beckenham. Beccs managed a few good runs and moves, gaining some ground but it was a hard day at the office with the ladies just managing to avoid the try line. The team began to show some good decision making and it was easy to see the team gelling together well throughout the game.
The scrums were solid with some great strength coming from Hayley, Sally, Debs and Natasha.
Thanks to Lara for coming out of retirement (again!) and showing how fiery she can be. Also big congratulations to all of the team for having the confidence to play in the positions they were put in and giving 110%. Congratulations also to the new debutantes, Eran and Chris for doing what they have been doing in training and making a valuable contribution to the game.
Our next match is away to Ashford on Sunday 4th November in NC Div 2 SE-E - please come and support us!
