18th Jan 2004 - Beccs lose 5-24 home to Ashford in Div 3 SE-E.
Beccs ladies recorded their second League loss in a row today playing the friendly Ashford team at home at Sparrow's Den. In a very competitive match this game could have gone either way with the score at half-time 0-0. The deadlock was initially broken by Beccs who ran in a try outwide using new wing Claire Hamon who scored under the post (perhaps with a hint of a knock-on but hey we'll take what we can get!)
Ashford were soon fighting back and were able to equalise under the posts and convert. With Beccs ladies tiring they put in a great defensive display but were unable to stop Vicki Jordan, the Ashford flanker from running over from set pieces to score three times in the last quarter.
Despite the loss this was an improved performance to last week and a great display of putting into action what has been worked on in training!
Beccs ladies next game is home to Canterbury in Division 3 SE-E on Sunday 25th January.
