26th January 2003 - Beccs lose 10-5 away to Ashford in a friendly match
Beccehamian Ladies played a very close game this Sunday against Division 4 side Ashford. Resting some key players from the National League it was a slightly different team to normal who took to the pitch. The game however was tightly contested with the big Ashford forwards defending well against Beccehamians nippier pack.
With some good back moves Beccehamians were able to test the Ashford line and a big push set up a ruck from which centre Alex Tyson ran blind to take on the ball and speed through the Ashford defence. Ashford were quick to respond and after a concerted effort were able to score a forwards try to equalise. With both sides now up for the kill it was Ashford who had the last word with a final try to take the match. A good game for both sides on a mucky and rough pitch.
P.S A shorter match report than normal because Sarah in on holiday and wasn't at the match!
Beccehamians next match is HOME to Aylesford in another friendly Southern League match on Sunday 2nd February, Kick-off 2.00pm.
